The best way to use the database is to create a list of companies you want to work for and roles within those companies you want to apply for.
Step 1:
Open the database (search for "Visa Buddy Database Access" in your email) to get your database password, then follow the steps below.
1. Select filters
Filter your search by visa type, job location, salary and company. The visas you can filter by are: H-1B π E-3 π¦πΊ Green Card π’ H-1B1 πΈπ¬ H-1B1 π¨π±
2. Search
Search the database by job, name, campyname and/or location.
4. Browse jobs
Browse our list of verified companies that have a track record of visa sponsorship.
5. Email a real person
Go look at open positions on the company's website. You can also contact the person at the company who handles recruiting and visas.
6. Land a job and apply for a visa
Apply, interview, and land the job!
Step 2:
Do not email the company contact before doing these steps (since they'll just ask you to do the below).
Instead, find the company's "Careers" page to check for open roles.
The easiest way is to copy the end of the company email address. For example, if the email is jane@doordash.com, then copy doordash.com, and put "doordash.com/careers" into your web browser's url bar.
If it's not a company email address then you can use Google. The "Careers" page is almost always in the website footer unless it's a smaller company.
If the company you're considering doesn't have a "Careers" page, it's well worth checking LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor and other job boards to see if they have active listings there.
Step 3:
If your target role(s) are available, simply apply there with the confidence that they will sponsor your visa! (as long as your skills and qualifications make you a good fit for the role of course)
Step 4:
If no similar role is available, email the company contact something like the template below.
Email template
Subject: "Are you hiring [target role]?"
Hi [first name from database],
I'm [first name]. I'm a [target role] with [number] years of experience in [industry]. Here are a few notable achievements of mine:
1. [achievement]
2. [achievement]
3. [achievement]
I've attached my resume. I had a look on your career page and couldn't find any public roles. I wanted to ask, are you looking to hire in this space in the next few months?
Kind regards,
[first name]
Step 5:
Rinse & repeat. And remember - getting results takes a lot of patience! But the more you send, the higher your chances of landing a job in the U.S.
